Choose the foreground, background and matte layer for the composition.

Notes

The levels of brightness in the matte layer are used to determine how much of the background layer is shown through the foreground one. Where the matte layer is dark, the foreground layer is made more transparent so the background shows through. In light areas of the matte layer, the foreground layer is prominent.
